I’ve been using AI, specifically Jasper and ChatGPT, to help with writing projects and to dive deeper into interview questions related to Winslow and DISC assessment results for a couple of years. Although I started using it a bit hesitantly, if I’m honest it’s been a game-changer when used thoughtfully. By combining assessment results with the power of AI, you can uncover more meaningful insights into strengths and concerns for interviews, make better secession and placement decisions, and create development strategies that align with both immediate needs and long-term goals. AI can be like having an extra set of hands (or maybe brains!) to help connect the dots and bring out insightful insights.
Smarter Hiring Decisions – Personalize Interview Questions:
Using AI, you can generate tailored interview questions based on a candidate’s Winslow scores.
For example:
- For a candidate with a low Flexibility score, questions might explore their adaptability in fast-changing environments.
- How traits like low “Assertiveness” or “Self-Confidence” might affect leadership potential.
- How “Flexibility” or “Order” could impact someone’s fit for creative vs. structured roles.
When using Chat make sure you compare the generated Chat questions with the correct Winslow definitions. Sometimes Chat translates a trait to a different meaning than the Winslow trait definition. When this happens it’s easy to simply clarify the Winslow meaning and redo the request for the interview question.
Here’s a recent example of customized interview questions:
🟢 Organizational Traits
Strengths: Responsibility, Creativity, Flexibility, Alertness
Moderate: Order, Structure
Interview Questions:
- Responsibility: “Describe a time when you took full ownership of a project. How did you handle accountability?”
- Creativity (High – managing routine tasks): “You seem to thrive on generating new ideas and thinking creatively. How do you stay focused and motivated when working on repetitive or routine tasks that don’t allow for much creativity?”
- Flexibility (High – Change for the Sake of Change): “Tell me about a time you introduced or pursued a change. How did you determine whether the change was truly needed, and how did it impact the team or outcome?” This will help reveal whether Jane Doe can distinguish between productive change and unnecessary disruption. “Give an example of how you adapted to a significant change in a project or process.”
- Structure (Low): “Tell me how you manage competing priorities and organize your day-to-day tasks.” And/or “How do you balance the need for structure with flexibility in your work?”
- Order: “How do you typically keep your workspace organized? Can you describe a time when your physical environment either helped or hindered your productivity?”
In Conclusion:
While ChatGPT and other AI tools are great at assisting in interpreting the general findings of assessments like Winslow or DISC, to accurately interpret an individual’s specific results typically requires-
- A deeper understanding of a person’s scores
- How those scores interact and reflect their unique personality
- And how they align with the roles or situations being evaluated
It’s always a good idea to consult someone trained or certified in your assessment of choice. Think of it like this: just as you’d trust a seasoned chef to bring out the best flavors in a recipe, an assessment professional can help uncover the full potential of the assessments you’re using.
So, go ahead and explore AI, but remember, a personal touch often makes all the difference!
